The Perfect Brew

I've been archiving my uni work and came across my portrait collection "The Perfect Brew" of which I never had the chance to blog about or upload on Flickr.

The photographic collection is basically all about tea. I love tea. It's so many things, all in one cup. A refreshment, an icebreaker, a peacemaker, or simply something to warm your cockles. As a beverage enjoyed by many walks of life, I looked at producing a beautiful photographic collection that celebrated the British institution of the cuppa and provided insight into the rituals of how to make the perfect brew by lovers of tea.

And so I scoured Hastings and St Leonards for tea lovers and produced the following collection of which I submitted as part of my graphic communication degree at The University of Brighton.

To follow are some of my favourites. To see the full collection visit my Flickr

Another Pringle Print

Now available in the Pen&Pringle shop, the first of a series of signed mini prints of my local area! Starting with the lovely promenade in St Leonard's-on-Sea.
At the pocket friendly price of only £5, these little prints (A6 size) are lovely for adding to an art montage, great framed or sent as snail mail to someone special. Click here to find out more.

Dunkirk Spirit

It's lovely how you get to know your neighbours when it's like this. Whether you're giving eachother's cars the heave-ho or sharing tales of each other's torrid travels, as much as we moan, I think snow brings people together. The more vulnerable neighbours have all been checked in on and plates of dried fruit and nuts have been put out to make sure our little friends don't go without. There's something to be said for a bit of snow.

We braved the blizzard and locals are out in their hoards stocking up on essentials. Milk is being rationed in our local grocery store and the queues for the butchers, bakers and greengrocers are out the door. I joined the frenzy of buyers to grab some supplies, followed by some good old fun in the snow.

Girl about town

Really chuffed! Picked up a copy of local magazine 'About' whose front cover features my collage of the Kings Road in St Leonards on Sea. And that's not all. Inside there's an interview where I talk about Pen&Pringle and how I moved down and grew to love St Leonards on Sea. It's a lovely little piece and I must say a thank you to Hastings Borough Council for wanting to feature me.
