Hooray for Spring!

Finally, Spring has arrived and my freshly painted toenails can wake up from their slumber and see the light of day. It's been a gorgeous sunny day and in celebration of double digit degrees, here are a pick of some my favourite things this season.

Grrrr...

It dawned on me today that I've dished out a lot of advice recently. Not like an annoying know-it- all telling people how they can do things better. But people asking me stuff about design and asking for guidance on getting ahead. And being the stupidly nice person that I am, I invest my precious time and energy responding, only to get absolutely zilch in return. I don't ask much but a simple thank you would keep my murderous tendencies at bay. 2 words, 8 letters. Ping it in an email, job done.

Anyway, inspired by the fabulous David Shrigley, I've produced an illustration that will now be sent to all future enquiries. Should save me some time hopefully.

You're Wheely Fun print

What a perect Friday. The sun nourished us with some very much needed vitamin D, the weekend is finally here, and the lovely Good Homes mag has featured Pen&Pringle's bicycle print "You're Wheely Fun". Happy days! To check out my bicycle print and the rest of the collection, simply visit Bouf.

Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner

London home accessories always catch my eye. I have a growing collection of London gems to remind me of the city I grew up in and still miss to this day (as happy as I am on the south coast).

Loving the above: The London globe from John Lewis (other cities also available - see link) and this dear little lampshade by the inspiring Charlene Mullen.

The Woolpack

I've been saying how it's high time I picked up my knitting needles and what do you know, I get an email about a knitting pack whose packaging is so cool even hoodies might be tempted to knit. Ok maybe not quite.

They're on the pricey side starting at around £50 for a basic kit but the package design makes this set very tempting, plus it's not just any old wool and the wooden needles are very slick too. Check out their website to see their collection.

Missed me?!

Oh my gosh, where has the time gone? It's been over a month since I last blogged?! It's all been a bit systems go since I started working for design agency The White Room but after coming back from Bestival this weekend, I've got a fresh burst of creative energy and during my research have unearthed a wealth of design tidbits I'm sure you'll love.

As a lover of bicycles, I seriously needed restraining when coming across this website. Perhaps I should give a warning before allowing bike lovers to peruse this portal of pure unadulterated bicycle erotica. At Bike By Me you can build your own bike in the most gorgeous colours and see the beauty before your very eyes. Enjoy my bicycle friends.

For those looking to reduce their impact on our wee planet or who simply can't be asked to keep buying bottles of water, check out these bobble bottles from Harvey Nichols. Not only do they reduce landfill but water is clean and crisp with it's carbon filter.

Check out these delicious pots from An Angel At My Table. My house seriously needs doing up but I'd quite happily sacrifice the necessities for this rack of sunshine!

Well they're my little finds for today. Now that I'm back online, I'll be giving you a peek into what I'm working on and a behind the scenes at The White Room and what we do so keep your eyes peeled. x

A Room With A View

Sometimes we take for granted the beauty of the things right under our noses. The studio in which I practice has such a wonderful view and sometimes I forget to even look at the sea. It's criminal. So I now vow to take a moment and enjoy my room with a view.

School's Out

Another term ended, another deadline met! It's been a long old term with lots of hard work and it was super satisfying to see the fruits of my labour all laid out. Below is my submission for my reflective module which is all about 'the happy collection' from Pen&Pringle. I shan't reveal all as this is going to be tweaked for my business so I won't reveal any secrets just yet! But I just had to give you a sneak preview. Forgive the quality of the shots - iphone camera is pants. x

Girl about town

Really chuffed! Picked up a copy of local magazine 'About' whose front cover features my collage of the Kings Road in St Leonards on Sea. And that's not all. Inside there's an interview where I talk about Pen&Pringle and how I moved down and grew to love St Leonards on Sea. It's a lovely little piece and I must say a thank you to Hastings Borough Council for wanting to feature me.
